Sri Sukhmani International School, Dera Bassi celebrated its Annual Programme ‘BRISKERS’ amidst great zeal and enthusiasm. The chief guest Mr. R.J. Khanderao,  Regional Officer, Panchkkula presided over the function.  The function was a part of the celebration of 29 years of excellence in the field of education. Chairman Prof. Avtar Singh and Director Mrs. Kanwaljit Kaur, management members, media persons and other dignitaries graced the occasion as the special guests. The programme was conceptualized around the theme “National Integration”. The students put up a mesmerizing show comprising various songs and dance performances. Tiny tots of Sukhmani International School presented culture of different states of India through fancy dress show.


The students performed a play which depicted the school progress. The school annual report was presented by the Principal Ms. Poonam Sharma. Prize distribution ceremony was also held. The Chief Guest, Chairman and Director of the school addressed the gathering and applauded the efforts of students. They also wished them good luck for their better future. The cultural bonanza presented by the students enthralled each and everyone presented in the function. The function ended with vote of thanks and National Anthem.




Republic Day

Republic Day was celebrated in Sri Sukhmani International School, Dera Bassi with great enthusiasm. All the staff members participated in Flag hosting and attended the function held at Municipal Office, Dera Bassi. Valued Guests, Media Persons, Management Members, Principal, all dignitaries  were present there. Mr.  N.  K. Sharma M.L.A., Dera Bassi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He delivered a valuable speech and told how we got freedom by the sacrificed of our National Leader.  We should maintain India’s dignity in all manners on the very special occasion. Honourable Chairman Prof.  Avtar Singh of SSIS was honoured by the Chief Guest for his valuable contribution in the field of education and social welfare. One more teacher Mr. Amarjit Singh got appreciation award for putting efforts with Buddy Group started by Punjab Government to reduce Drug in Punjab. It is a matter of pride for Sukhmanians. Press Note regarding fete ‘ SUKHMANI FIESTA’ in SSIS

Sri Sukhmani International School wore a different look on Sunday. Children along with their parents, floked to the school compus to attend School Annual Fete “Sukhmani Fiesta”. Games, food and fun summed up the Sunday for the little ones and their parents.

The fete is always a real hit and this year was no expectation. A record number of visitors enjoyed a variety of refreshments including continental southern, Italian and many more dishes and beverages. Stalls lined the school field offering traditional fete favourites. Music was provided and these was live entertainment from the fabulous school choir. There was great fun and frolic. Selfie corner was developed to have smart selfies. Students along with their parents enjoyed the event a lot. Honourable Chairman Prof. Avtar Singh and Director Mrs. Kanwaljit Kaur said, “the event tought us to manage things using limited resources. The best thing was great team spirit of students as well as faculty”. Vigilance Week


Sri Sukhmani International School has become the part of vigilance week and an anti corruption campaign that is continuing on by Indian overseas Bank. In order to eradicate corruption in country the war against corruption has taken forward by sukhmanians  by taking a pledge to vanish corruption from roots. They take an oath that they would contribute to tackle corruption at the grass root level. They take the pledge even if corruption will be throwing at them they will not embrace it. Hon’able chairman Prof. Avtar Singh  and Director Mrs. Kanwaljit Kaur said that corruption  has damaged everything and destroyed the vision of youth of this generation and there is need to overcome it and demolish it from roots. Worthy Principal Mrs. Poonam Sharma conveyed the message to the students that there is need to fight corruption from the bottom up to save the country from it.


Annual Sports Meet


The school playground of Sri Sukhmani International School was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 14th November, 2018 as the school celebrated children’s day in the form of Annual Sports Day. All the students especially the participants were really excited about the event. The programme began with shabad and sports meet began with the lightning of sports Torch and March Past by the four houses. The events filled in the heart of everyone with spirit of sportsmanship and unity.

The students displayed wide ayyar colourful and reverberant events. The performers mesmerized all with their energetic performance. Dressup, Relay, Nukkad Natak, Rajasthani dance remained as the main attraction of mega event. Honourable Chairman Prof. Avtar Singh and Director Mam Ms.Kanwaljit Kaur emphasized how important sports are in child’s life. She also applauded Principal Ms. Poonam Sharma for her outstanding achievements in the shaping up of the school with her rich experience in the field of education SSIS. Thanked everyone who contributed their services either directly or indirectly for the grand success of this event. Sports Day ended with National Anthem.


Inter House Volleyball Match at SSIS

Sri Sukhmani International School, Dera Bassi  held Interhouse  Volley Ball Match in the School Premises to celebrate National Sports Day. The match was organized to boost and freshen up the students. The whole set up of the match was done by Physical Education Teachers Mr. Sahil and Mr. Arya. The first match was played between Himalya House and Shivalik House. The final match was played between Shivalik House and Vindhya House. In all Vindhya House was announced as winning team. This event proved to the different experience for the student. All the House Teachers appreciated the players for their best efforts. Chairman Prof. Avtar Singh and Director Ms. Kanwaljit Kaur congratulate all the participants for their passion for sports. Principal  Mrs. Poonam Sharma highlighted the importance of games in one’s life and motivated them to play games also with their children.




Diwali Celebration


The celebration of Diwali ‘The festival of lights’ come alive at Sri Sukhmani International School, Dera Bassi on 2nd November .

The tiny tits of school wore a festival look and come in disguise of characters from Ramayana.

The corridors and hall was adorned with diyas and lanterns in bright colours. The rangoli done by the students  added the perfect setting to the festivity. The songs brought out the essence of festival celebration of life and goodness. Teachers talked about the significance of festivals how good always conquered the evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. The students show cased the spirit  of Diwali through mesmerizing dance performance. Chairman Prof.  Avtar Singh and Director Mrs.  Kanwaljit Kaur gave away the message of clean, peaceful, eco friendly bright Diwali. The function concluded with Principal Mam’s message in which show sensitized the harmful effects of crackers.
